A lot like Christmas

Merchants look to shopping season

Posted
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Lebanon and the rest of the nation are ready for the Christmas shopping season and some expect to see some growth in this year’s sales. Sales are expected to be up some this year both nationally and locally. The National Retail Federation (NRF) predicts growth of 6% to 8% in U.S. holiday sales for 2022 to between $942.6 billion and $960.4 billion. In 2021, NRF said holiday sales grew 13.5% for a total $889.3 billion. But other forecasters point to the effect of inflation and rising interest rates on holiday budgets.
