Artie Jean Patterson, 92, of Lebanon, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, in Lebanon.

She was born May 4, 1929, in Manes, Mo. to Henry and Lily Barton Wade.

On Aug. 27, 1946, she married Jake Patterson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jake on Sept. 8, 2002; by five brothers, Larry, Burl, Merlin, Donald Barton, an infant brother, Ronald, and one sister, Evelyn Decker.

Artie graduated from Plato High School in 1946. She attended college at Southwest Missouri State Teachers College and taught at Nelson School. She and her husband Jake owned and operated Lynchburg Store for 33 years. She made many lifelong friends and lasting friendships through the years. She and Jake also enjoyed hunting and fishing, sightseeing and traveling together.

She is survived by two sisters, Clella Rhea of Willard, and Carol Tunison and her husband Richard of the state of Virginia; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of neighbors and dear friends.

A graveside service and burial for Artie Jean Patterson will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2022, at Mount Carney Cemetery near Falcon with Wade Perryman officiating, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. Friends and family may call at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel after 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to Mount Carney Cemetery.
