BNSF and MoDOT are in discussions over the recently repaired railroad crossing

The Missouri Department of Transportation and BNSF Railway are in discussions about the recently repaired railroad crossing on Jefferson Avenue near Downtown Lebanon. Jefferson Avenue was closed for a few days in mid December while BNSF repaired the railroad. At the time, BNSF spokesperson Ben Wilemon said that the track was being raised to “better align with the road approaches.” When the crossing reopened on Dec. 17, several people took to social media to talk about the new elevation of the track, which was higher than it previously was.
