City Council takes step toward removing unlicensed vehicle ban from property laws

Posted

The Lebanon City Council has given first reading approval to removing a ban on “unlicensed vehicles” from the city’s property maintenance laws.
The action came during Monday’s Council meeting. The change will require a second reading approval at the next Council meeting before it can take effect.
Police Chief Jerry Harrison said the revised code would respect private property rights while still requiring property maintenance in the city. He said that city ordinances now prohibit parking or storage of any motor vehicle or trailer which is abandoned, wrecked, dismantled, unlicensed, junked or partially dismantled on public or private property within the city.
