The Conway Lady Bears lost their second round of the 34th Lady Lions Invitational Tournament on Thursday against the Fordland Lady Eagles 40-18. The round moved to Fordland instead of Mansfield due to sickness at that location, Conway Coach Matt Wilson said. Going into the match, the Conway Lady bears had lost the first round of the Lady Lions Invitational Tournament against the Springfield Catholic Fighting Irish 58-17 and held a season record of 4-13.  Their opponents also lost their first round against Springfield Catholic and held a season record of 12-5.  The Lady Eagles took the lead in the first period, running past the Lady Bears’ defense to rack up points. #10 Arianna Hughes and #11 Katen Wilson scored Conway’s five points this period, leaving the score 14-5.  Conway fared better in the second period, scoring the first points and working its way into the double digits. Fordland still held the lead by 7 points by the end of the period. Hughes, Wilson and #23 Hailey Doehring scored points for Conway.  For more on this story, see Saturday's LCR.
