DANIEL E. BREEDEN

Daniel E. Breeden, 87, of Phillipsburg, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022, in Phillipsburg.

He was born March 22, 1934, in Winnipeg, Mo. to Gary F. and Nadene J. Murrell Breeden.

On July 29, 1984, he married Marilyn Jean O’Quinn Hicks.

He is preceded in death by his parents and by his wife Marilyn Breeden, who died April 4, 2019.

Dan graduated from Lebanon High School in the class of 1952. He then joined the United States Navy and proudly served our country for six years aboard the U.S. Taylor 468 D.D.E. out of Pearl Harbor. Dan toured the South Pacific with Uncle Sam. Upon returning home, Dan worked as a driver for Lindsay Chevrolet for nearly 20 years. In his free time, he was an avid race fan and enjoyed traveling with his wife Marilyn.

He professed his faith in Christ at an early age and attended Washington Christian Church.

Dan as he was known by his family and friends, is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Esther of Lebanon; two nieces, Angela Greer and her husband Bryan and Mychelle Pawlikowski and her husband Joseph and one nephew, Anthony Huntington, all of Lebanon; two stepsons, Alan Hicks and his wife Debbie of Wichita, Kan. and Bobby Hicks and his wife Kathy of Lebanon; other relatives and dear friends.

A memorial service for Daniel E. Breeden will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, at Washington Christian Church with Bob Scoby officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Lebanon Cemetery under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
