Laclede County Collector of Revenue Toni Morris reported that there has been a steady flow of people paying their personal property and real estate taxes, which are due December 31.
“We are probably looking at a really busy rest of the period, though,” Morris said.
The county sends out tax statements every November after verifying tax amounts and assessed values with the County Clerk and Assessor’s Offices, the collector’s website states. Morris asked that residents call if they did not receive their statement in the mail.
Residents can pay online or by telephone with their credit cards (with Morris adding that there is a surcharge), with cash at the Collector’s Office or via cashier’s checks, personal checks, or money order. The office is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Morris added that the payment drop box at the Laclede County Courthouse Second Street entrance, which is open at any time of the day, will be open until December 31 at midnight. She also wished to remind residents that they will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
