Dennis Wayne “Denny’’ Starnes, 77, of Lebanon, died Sunday, June 26, 2022, in Lebanon.

He was born July 6, 1944, in Lebanon, Mo. to David Wayne and Fay Kern Starnes.

On Dec. 22, 1963, he married Jo Ann Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Marlin and Dave Jr., and two sisters, Lola Rook and Juanita Cain.

Dennis graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1962. After graduation he worked at Hoffman Service Station and later for Johnson’s Service Center as a mechanic. For 30 years, Denny was associated with Detroit Tool in Lebanon as a machinist. He retired from Precision Cutter and Tool after several years of employment. He was well respected by his co-workers for his hard work and dedication.

He was a member of the Sunnyview Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Jo Ann Starnes;  two sons, James Starnes and his wife Kathy of Stillwater, Okla. and Brad Starnes of Lebanon; two daughters, Morgan Agbo and her husband Freeman of Springfield,and Christy Starnes and spouse Jason Hughes of Lebanon; eight grandchildren, Brooke, Rachel, Kimberly, Isaiah, Kordell, Alexis, Clarissa, and Kaitlyn; eight great-grandchildren, Leah, Mila, Oliver, Declan, Mason, Melanie, Luke and Moxley; one sister, Ruth Zymm and her husband Bob of Chicago, Ill.; other relatives, many dear neighbors, co-workers and friends.

Funeral services for Dennis Wayne “Denny’’ Starnes will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2022, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Bruce Doublin and Ralph Douglas officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery at Oakland, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
