DR. VIC SLAUGHTER

Dr. Vic Slaughter, 88, of Olathe, Kan., formerly of Lebanon, died Friday afternoon, Jan. 7, 2022, in Benton House Assisted Living in Olathe, Kan.

He was the longtime Superintendent of the Lebanon R-3 Schools.

Survivors include his wife Sybil of the home; a daughter, Jennifer Dehaan and her husband Keith of Kansas City, Mo.; two sons, George Slaughter and his wife Vicki of Olathe, Kan., and Blake Slaughter and his wife Kristen of Ballwin, Mo.; five grandchildren; a brother, Allen “Pitsy’’ Slaughter of Fulton; a brother-in-law, Dan Neely of Cape Girardeau; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Dr. Vic Slaughter will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 14, 2022, at the First Christian Church in Lebanon with the Rev. Greg Turner officiating. Following the funeral service a committal service with full military honors will be held at the Lebanon High School Alumni Plaza in Lebanon. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Columbia, under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday in the Holman-Howe FuneralHome. Memorials to First Christian Church of Lebanon and the Advanced Home Health and Hospice of Overland Park, Kan. have been established and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
