Freeda Ann Myers

Freeda Ann Myers, 93, of Lebanon, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2024, in Lebanon.

She was born March 4, 1931, in Grovespring Mo. to Walter and Velie Davis Claxton.

On March 4, 1950, she was united in marriage to Lee U. Myers.

Those preceding her in death include her parents; her husband Lee U. Myers on July 21, 1993; and seven siblings, Vernon, Sherman, Clifford, Dorothy, Ruth, Jack and Lorraine.

Freeda first worked with Wilbur Elmore, Superintendent of Schools. She was then Deputy County Clerk working under Preston Schmoutey and finally she worked in the billing department at Lebanon City Hall. After her retirement, she became a volunteer for Mercy Hospital Auxiliary in the gift shop, where she remained for 22 years. She was even recognized by Mike Kahoe at a ceremony in Jefferson City for her dedication.

Freeda is survived by her daughter, Debra Summerville and her husband David of Garland, Texas; two grandchildren, Michael Summerville of Houston, Texas and his fiancée Bayla Pidgeon of Austin, Texas and Susan Summerville of Sunnyvale, Ca.; three nephews, Clifford “Cliff” Claxton and his wife Irene of Lebanon, Sam Mustard and his wife Cathy of Lebanon, and Norman Mustard, also of Lebanon; two nieces, Bonnie O’Neil and her husband John of Springfield, and Kathy Nelson and her husband Jerry of Lebanon; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Mike Moore officiating. Burial was in Mount Rose Memorial Park. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until service time, also on Tuesday at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
