GEORGE EDWARD TRUITT

George Edward Truitt, 79, of Lebanon, died Sunday, Jan 16, 2022, at Mercy Hospital Springfield.

He was born Dec. 26, 1942, in Lebanon, Mo. to E.C. and Eva Faye Buttram Truitt.

On Aug. 4, 1962, he married Judy Kay Phillips and to this union three sons were born.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert Duane Truitt; and a sister, Mary Truitt Gaines.

George was raised in the Kansas City, Mo. area, and then made his home in the Lebanon area for most of his adult years. He owned and operated the DX Station in Phillipsburg, and then worked as a truck driver for several years.

He was a longtime active member of Second Baptist Church in Lebanon.

Survivors include his wife Judy of the home near Lebanon; two sons, Jeff Truitt and his wife Shelly of Cave Springs, Ark. and Mark Truitt and his wife Jessica of Lebanon; four grandchildren, A.J., Casey, Nicole and Jennifer; a great-grandson, Augie Truitt; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for George Edward Truitt will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022, at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon with the Rev. Bill Garrett officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park in Lebanon, under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon.

A memorial to the American Kidney Association has been established and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
