The Missouri Advisory Council for Historic Preservation approved the MFA-Producers Creamery Company Dairy Plant nomination to the National Register of Historic Places at its Jan. 10 meeting, according to MOACHP. The nomination will now advance to the National Park Service for final approval.
The Lebanon plant is now owned by Ice Cream Factory. CEO Shannon Imler spoke on the plant’s journey to its upcoming potential historic designation. His company’s work towards nomination began over a year ago in collaboration with Ryan Companies.
“I’m very passionate about historic buildings and historic preservation,” Imler said, “and I felt like it was a good step for the property and a really good thing for the community too.”
