‘Jackets beat Mountaineers on Friday

Friday night’s basketball game between the Lebanon Yellowjackets and Mt. Vernon Mountaineers had an old-school feel to the game. With the Lebanon High School girls’ basketball team hosting a tournament, the boys’ team played in Carr Gymnasium in front of a packed crowd in a much smaller venue than the normal Boswell Auditorium. The Yellowjackets (3-12 overall) used the atmosphere to their advantage, finally edging out the Mountaineers, 59-54. “I just want to give a huge shoutout to our bench guys,” head coach Ryan Toombs said after the win. “When you are on the bench and a teenage kid, it is easy to phone it in.
