JAMES (JIM) RAY McCANDLESS

James (Jim) Ray McCandless, 76, of Lebanon, died April 25, 2022, in Lebanon.

He was born Aug. 16, 1945, in Kansas City, Mo. to Ray James and Katherine May Michael McCandless.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jimmy McCandless; sisters, Sylvia Suitor and Sandra Baldus.

He attended Fort Osage High School. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Jim worked as an electrician for the Kansas City School District for many years. He loved to go fishing, camping and visiting with friends; he was always there to help if someone needed it. He was also a member of the VFW and American Legion.

Survivors include his daughter, Jeanetta Brooks and husband Mark of Willow Springs; grandchildren, Brittney Collins and husband Wesley, and Jessica Tooley and husband Josh, all of Willow Springs; great-grandchildren, Jace, Bryson and Paxton; one sister, Kathy Owens; and a host of extended family and friends.

No service for Jim McCandless will be held at this time. Burial will be in Dutch Chapel Cemetery near Lynchburg at a later date, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. Sign guest book at www.shadelscolonialchapel.com.
