John David “J.D.’’ Shoemaker, 55, of Buffalo, died Tuesday, March 22, 2022, in Springfield.

He was born Sept. 2, 1966, in Brookfield, Mo. to Raymond and Roberta Shoemaker.

J.D. married Audrey “Janie’’ Dampier.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant brothers, and a brother-in-law, Rick Robbie.

J.D. worked for the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office for over 20 years.

He accepted Jesus and was saved as a young boy. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Southern Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Janie of the home; two sons, Aaron West and his wife Amy of Willard; Casey Huston of Springfield; two daughters, Lanie Redd and husband Brandon of Halfway; Lacey Brackett and husband McKenzie of Lebanon; six grandchildren, Gracie, Sophie, Rylie, and Izabelle Redd of Halfway, and Bingham and Tucker West of Willard; three brothers, Sonny Shoemaker and wife Pat of Elkland; Donald Shoemaker and wife Lisa of Buffalo; Emory Shoemaker and wife Tina of Buffalo; five sisters, Meta Robie of Kirksville; Debbie Hicks and husband Randy of Camdenton; Penny Holman of Buffalo; Jeanie Young and husband Cliff of Buffalo; Janie Hardesty and husband Jerry of Buffalo; three sisters-in-law, Brigette Lowrance and husband Carl of Lebanon; Paula Welton and husband Andy of Mountain Grove, and Amanda Bowden and husband Jack of Buffalo; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial visitation for J.D. Shoemaker was held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2022, in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home in Buffalo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made tot he Shriners Hospital.
