Joyce Elaine Hough, 87, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2023.

She was born Sept. 6, 1935, in Winnipeg, Mo. to Albert and Ila Murrell Lamkins.

On Oct. 31, 1954, she was united in marriage to Charles David Hough at First Baptist Church.

Those preceding her in death include her parents; her husband Charles on Aug. 9, 2019; and one son, Ronald Hough on Feb. 25, 2007.

Joyce’s top priority was tending to the needs of her family. However, she also worked outside her home. For 20 years, she and her husband Charles owned and operated Dairy Queen. She was later a bookkeeper for a local car dealership. She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and quilting. Cooking for her family and attending her grandchildren’s various activities brought her great joy.

She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church.

Joyce is survived by one son, Charles “Daniel’’ Hough and his wife Angela of Lebanon; five grandchildren, Laura Hough, Rachel Hough, Sarah Hough-Burger and her husband Kevin, Emily Hough and Amanda Hough; two great-grandchildren, Nadia Hough and Nathaniel Hazel; one daughter-in-law, Kathy Hough; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Joyce Elaine Hough will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Rev. Marcia Vincent officiating. Burial will be in Hough Chapel Cemetery.
