Laclede basketball near season’s end

Basketball season has ended for most of the county’s high schools. The exception is Lebanon, whose boys’ and girls’ teams will begin their district play this week. Below is the state of the season for Laclede basketball teams along with highlights from their seasons. The Lebanon Yellowjackets has a season record of 7-19 heading into district play. The team lost their last game against Glendale (13-11) 75-59. The ‘Jackets will play against the Kirkwood Pioneers (13-10) in their first round of districts on Wednesday. The Lady ‘Jackets go into district play with a 9-17 season record. The girls team also lost their last game against Glendale (12-14), with the score being 48-41. The Lady Jackets will play against the Kickapoo Lady Chiefs (23-3) in their first round of districts on Thursday. The Conway Bears ended their season with a 10-17 record. In the 40th Annual Conway Invitational Tournament, the team won against Maranatha Baptists (85-47) and Richland (64-34) after a loss against Skyline (85-56). The Bears lost their first round of districts against Seymour, losing 71-41. The Lady Bears ended play with a 4-22 season record. The team’s greatest victory was against Weaubleau in the Doug Loehr Holiday Classic, where they won 64-48. The Lady Bears lost their first round of districts against the Sparta Lady Trojans, losing 56-25. The Stoutland Tigers ended their season last week with a record of 17-9. In a February game against the Conway Bears, the Tigers won 88-43. The Tigers fell in their second round of districts against the Halfway Cardinals, losing 78-62. The Stoutland Lady Tigers ended the season with a 17-9 record. They participated in several tournaments, taking wins in the Frisco League Tournament, Lady Tigers Varsity Tournament, and the Lady Tiger Invitational. They fell in their second round of districts against the St. Elizabeth Lady Hornets, losing 64-34. The Richland Bears ended their season with a record of 2-19. Their greatest win was against Maranatha Baptist Warriors, the score being 78-61. They ended their season in their first round of districts against the Crocker Lions, losing 84-40. The Lady Bears ended their season with a 20-9 overall record. Their closest win in the regular season was a rematch against the Licking Lady Wildcats, winning 42-40. The Lady Bears advanced three rounds in district play, losing the championship match against the Iberia Lady Rangers 59-52.
