The Laclede County Commission considered senior tax freeze applications during the bulk of their Tuesday meeting.
During the meeting, the commissioners approved 12 SB 190/senior tax freeze applications and reviewed seven others.
In the review process, the full discussion of which may be viewed on the Record’s YouTube recording of the meeting, the commission rejected five applications and held two for further approval.
Presiding Commissioner Randy Angst explained the criteria for senior tax freeze applications as follows: be 62 years of age or older, be the owner of the property, claim only one property in Missouri as a primary residence, be liable for taxes on the property, and pay current taxes on the property.
