Lebanon tennis loses matches to tough opponents

After Monday’s win against Kickapoo, the Lebanon boys tennis team lost against two tough opponents, coach Ron Crowell reported. In the match up against Joplin, Lebanon lost 6-3. Crowell said despite the players not being able to pull out a win, he was proud of their effort and asserted that the match will better the team. “It was a great high school tennis match. It felt like a heavy weight fight between two really good teams,” Crowell said. Crowell highlighted Ethan Fisher and Conor McGruder’s win 8-6 in doubles, Kasey Hicks and Josh Rogers’ 8-3 doubles win and Rogers’ 8-3 winning singles performances. Varsity Results Singles Fisher lost 8-4 against Leif Garrity. McGruder lost 9-7 against Adam Badr. Kicks lost 8-1 against Taylor Schlag. Rogers won 8-3 against William Hazlewood. Denver Woodruff lost 8-6 against Jack Delman. Teigan Vance lost 9-7 against Oscar Kienzle. Doubles Fisher and McGruder won 8-6 against Garrity and Bar. Hicks and Roers won 8-3 against Schlag and Hazlewood. Woodruff and Vance lost 8-3 against Delman and Kienzle. Junior Varsity Results Singles Josiah Ruble lost 6-3. Curtis Frazier lost 6-4.
