Local preacher plays part in 'The Chosen'

A local pastor and his wife had the opportunity to be a part of the filming of the television show, “The Chosen,” which is about the life of Jesus Christ. In February 2021, Pastor John Angst of Prosperine Baptist Church in Eldridge and his wife, Laquita, traveled to the Dallas, Texas metro area along with thousands of other extras for the filming of the Sermon on the Mount, the longest continuous sermon of Jesus in the New Testament. All extras were responsible for providing their own period costumes and the men were encouraged to grow out their hair and beards. “It was really fun to make the costumes,” said Mrs. Angst. “It was very cold and windy the day of the filming, but it was a wonderful experience.
