Lyle W. “Jack’’ Deselms, 97, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, March 16, 2022, in Springfield.

He was born Jan. 30, 1925, in Edison, Neb. to Hugh E. and Bernice Stevens Deselms.

On April 6, 1947, he married Anna Sieggen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Anna on May 27, 2018; sons, Jack T. and David Deselms; brother, Kenneth Deselms; and two sisters, Berdina Gardner and Margie Butler.

Jack graduated in 1943 from Albin High School in Wyoming, where he spent most of his childhood. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1946.  Jack’s passion was farming; he owned and operated a dairy farm for many years and later raised cattle on the family farm.  Jack loved his family deeply, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

At the time of his passing, Jack was a member of Happy Hill Free Will Baptist Church.  

Jack is survived by his daughter, Carrie Henson and husband Tim of Lebanon; daughter-in-law Paula Deselms of Lebanon; four grandchildren, Clinton Dismang and wife Mindy, Joseph Dismang and wife Loretta, Miles and Wes Deselms; ten great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.    

Funeral services for Lyle W. “Jack’’ Deselms will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Clinton Lambeth officiating. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Friday also at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
