MICHAEL LAVERN HIGDON

Michael Lavern Higdon, 75, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022, in his home near Lebanon.

He was born Jan. 28, 1947, in Boulder, Colo.

On Sept. 9, 1973, he was united in marriage to Billie Kay Fletcher, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Cora Mason; his wife Billie on Aug. 5, 1973; and two brothers, Bob Higdon and Richard Glenn.

Michael was raised in Lincoln, Calif., and joined the military as a young man. He served his country faithfully from 1968 until 1973 in the United States Army. He had worked as a roofer and had also taught in the Sacramento, Calif. school system. He enjoyed teaching and particularly teaching outdoor skills to his family. He had also served as a Cub Scoutmaster. He liked traveling, fishing and hunting, and just being outdoors. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed having time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Higdon of the state of Colorado; a son, Patrick Higdon and his wife Donna of Leesburg, Va.; five grandchildren, Mikaela, Angelica, Kevin, Alanna and Dexter; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services and burial for Michael Lavern Higdon will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022, in Mount Rose Memorial Park in Lebanon, under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon. For more information or to visit the website go to www.holmanhowe.com.
