New playground open at Bennett Spring Park

Bennett Spring State Park’s new splash pad officially opened on Friday, though families were already enjoying the new activity as its ribbon cutting ceremony began. Delighted yelling from children in the water and the nearby playground accompanied park officials’ speeches on the completed project.
Park and state officials held the ribbon cutting with the Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce and other community members to mark the official opening of the park’s new splash pad and accompanying playground, located near Fishing Zone 3 and the park’s wooden Bramwell Bridge.
Park Manager Gabe DuMond noted that the splash pad was an anticipated replacement for the park’s decades-old swimming pool, since removed. He also said it would be a place for non-anglers to enjoy.
