The Lady Yellowjackets lost their basketball game against the Republic Lady Tigers 60-28 on Monday.  Coming in from their defeat against the Camdenton Lady Lakers in the Mid America Bank Osage Invitational, the Lady Yellowjackets had a 6-9 season record.  The Lady Tigers most recently won against the Francis Howell Central Lady Spartans in the Nixa Invitational Tournament and held an 8-8 season record. Bringing in a first period score of 15-6, the Lady Yellowjackets had some catching up to do. Fouls and defensive gaps helped the Lady Tigers rack up points, though #2 Kendall Bybee, #35 Mackenzie Perryman and #45 Morgan Durbin helped to increase Lebanon's scoreboard. The score at halftime stood 38-17. Republic thwarted Lebanon's early offensives in the third quarter, though the latter did eventually make incremental gains. The Lady Tigers continued to develop its sizeable lead, leaving the score at period's end 53-22. The clock was racing alongside the players in the fourth period as Lebanon pushed to decrease the score gap to less than 30. Though Republic scored less frequently, Lebanon was unable to close the gaps. Durbin and #44 Madison Myers scored the last Lady Yellowjacket points of the period. As players and crowd members left the court, John Denver's "Country Roads" piped through the speakers. The Lady Yellowjackets next play against the Hillcrest Lady Hornets on Thursday.
