Ronnie Dean Unger Jr., 49, of Lebanon, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, in Springfield.

He was born Dec. 18, 1972, in Crete, Neb. to Ronnie Dean Unger Sr. and Pamela Bruns Unger.

On June 28, 2008, he married Sheila Mae Sansom.

He was preceded in death by his father, maternal grandmother, Evelyn Bruns and by his paternal grandparents, Lumir and Albie Unger.

Ronnie graduated from high school in Crete, Neb. While making his home in Lebanon, he was employed with Tracker Marine as a welder.

He is survived by his wife Sheila Unger; his children, Derek Unger and his wife Chelsea of Lebanon; Aaron Unger of Springfield; Kristin Brant and her husband Landon of Lebanon, and Hunter Hicks and his wife Madison of Phillipsburg; his mother, Pamela Unger of Crete, Neb.; two brothers, Joshua Unger and his wife Annette of Lincoln, Neb. and Michael Unger and his wife Rachel of Derby, Kan.; his sister, Tracey Connell and her husband Daniel of Crete, Neb.; five grandchildren, Haven Hicks, Remington Masters, Kaislee, Brayleigh and Greyson Unger; his maternal grandfather, Lester Bruns of Crete, Neb.; other relatives, a host of co-workers and dear friends.

A memorial service for Ronnie Dean Unger Jr. will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2022, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Shawn Heinrichs and Kenny Moore officiating. His body will be cremated following the service. Visitation for Ronnie will begin at 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, prior to the service at 6 p.m. also at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
