Shellena D. Cunningham, 75, of Strafford, died July 27, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
She was born Feb. 13, 1947, in Niangua, Mo. to Frank and Oleta (Mackey) Rush.
On Sept. 3, 1965, she married William Dean Cunningham of Conway.
She worked for Zenith, McBee Binders and RT French Co. in Springfield before starting a career with St. John’s Hospital (Mercy) and General Surgeons of Springfield until she retired. After being retired for a short time, she went back to work for HyVee for five years.
Shellena was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Oleta Rush; brother Rick Rush
Survivors include her husband Dean; their three daughters, Mechele Sexton and Daryl of Republic; Melissia Cunningham of Hurley, Mo., and Cathy Witty and Kevin Rogersville; a brother, John Rush and Sally of Marshfield; a sister, Maetta Hill and Jack of Rogersville; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
At Shellie’s request, no services will be held. Cremation has been entrusted to Day Funeral Home of Marshfield. The family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
