What began as a Lebanon police response to a reported shooting turned into an hours-long standoff that drew crowds to a marked off section of North Monroe on Sunday. The shooting resulted in one injured victim and a dead suspect.
Lebanon Police Chief Jerry Harrison reported to the Record that officers responded to a reported shooting in the 400 block of North Monroe Street before 1 p.m. on Sunday, with the department’s press release later specifying that they arrived around 12:15 p.m.
The officers found one victim with a gunshot wound, the press release noted. With the activities of the suspect inside the home unknown, the LPD declared the scene an active incident, set a perimeter around the home and advised residents to avoid the area, as confirmed by Harrison.
