State representatives honor former
sheriff at Capitol’s Laclede County Day

Former Laclede County Sheriff David Millsap was honored with a retirement resolution on Wednesday. The presentation was part of the larger Laclede County Day at the Capitol.
State representatives Jeff Knight (District 142) and Melissa Schmidt (District 141) hosted the event, Schmidt’s field office said. They went on to explain the day consisted of legislative session observance, the retirement resolution presentation, tours to the Thomas Hart Benton Lounge and the top of the Capitol’s dome, and then lunch.
The field office said that residents of Laclede County, including elected officials, were present for the event.
When reached out to for comment, Millsap said he was humbled by the presentation.
“Serving as the Sheriff was an honor, and I appreciate the trust we built with the community. We are blessed in this community to have Jeff Knight and Melissa Schmidt working in Jefferson City on our behalf,” Millsap said.
