A Monday court hearing concluded the county’s fraudulent GoFundMe page case as defendant Stephanie Taylor entered a guilty plea and the court sentenced her.
During Monday’s hearing, Taylor entered a plea of guilty to the felony charge of stealing $750 or more, according to her case’s file on Case.net. Taylor was charged earlier this spring following an investigation over her fundraising for the Josh Lay family, who had lost their home in a December fire.
The 26th Circuit Court sentenced Taylor to five years in the Missouri Department of Corrections, the execution of said sentence suspended to five years of supervised probation with parole. The court also ordered Taylor to pay restitution.
