Following a traffic accident on the Interstate 44 Monday night, Laclede County Office of Emergency Management helped shelter 16 stranded non-English speaking travelers until the next morning.
According to Office of Emergency Management Director Randy Rowe, the crash occurred at about 9:50 p.m. near the 125 mile marker involving a semi tractor trailer that took out some cable, a private vehicle with one driver and a bus loaded with 16 occupants, aged 40 to 77, three of them females, believed to be from Mexico.
