U.S. Rep. Hartzler Backs the Blue

Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler came to Lebanon Saturday to help honor law enforcement officers at a Back the Blue event. Hartzler appeared at the Agriculture Legacy building next to the Cowan Civic Center to recognize local police officers and sheriff’s deputies. “It breaks my heart that in certain parts of the country they’re demonized,” she said. “I wanted to do everything I could to make sure that they know they’re appreciated, that their families know they’re appreciated and maybe even encourage people from other parts of the country to come here and serve in Missouri, let them know we appreciate them welcome them here.” Hartzler said she and city officials hoped the Back the Blue campaign could help with police department recruitment efforts.
