WANDA “KAY’’ LIGHT

Wanda “Kay’’ Light, 84, of Lebanon, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, in Lebanon.

She was born Oct. 8, 1937, in Wright County, Mo. to Charlie and Vada Marcum Pitts.

On May 5, 1956, she married Carl Light.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Earnie Pitts and one sister, Ada Jones.

Although her top priority was tending to the needs of her family, Kay also worked outside her home at H.D. Lee for several years. In her younger years, she enjoyed going to car races with Carl. She also enjoyed bluegrass festivals. However, she most enjoyed time spent and laughter with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved them dearly.

She was a longtime member of Highland Park Church of God, where she also served on the benevolence committee helping with funeral dinners.

Survivors include her husband Carl; two children, Debra Winfrey and her husband Dewayne and Carl Light and his wife Christy, all of Lebanon; one brother, Clifford Pitts and his wife Alene of Lebanon; one nephew, Lavon Jones and his wife Vicky of Kansas City, Mo.; three grandchildren, Shawna Light, Ryan Light, and Stacy Long and her husband Danny; two great-grandchildren, Bailey and Liam Pavia; mother of Carl’s children, Cathy Light, also of Lebanon; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Wanda “Kay’’ Light will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Rick Hill and Dors Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. Visitation will begin at noon Wednesday prior to service at 1 p.m., also at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel. Memorials have been suggested in memory of Kay to Highland Park Church of God.
