Weight lifting team receives state medals

Posted
In late February, the Lebanon High School weight lifting team attended the Regional Weight Meet at Glendale High School. The team had multiple medalists at the event. Brooklyn O’Cain won first in the 155-pound weight class in the girl division. Celisity Passmore took second in the 115-pound weight class. JC Wells took second in the 125-pound weight class for the boys, while Lionel Degand finished in sixth. Danek Conrad led the way in the 250-pound weight class, finishing sixth, and Ryder Rhoades took fourth in 165 pounds. “We took a team of great lifters,” coach Garett Wade said after the meet. “There were several medalists, and everyone had a personal record of some kind at the meet. Brooklynn O’Cain had an outstanding competition. She finished first in her class and broke the state squat record for her class with a lift of 300 pounds. “It’s nice to get back to a competition like this. There haven’t been many competitions because of Covid-19 until recently. I’m proud of these kids and their effort.”
