CHARLES (CHUCK) AUSTIN WALKER

Charles (Chuck) Austin Walker, 78, of Lebanon, died Nov. 28, 2021, after a battle with cancer.

He was born March 4, 1943, to Lawrence and Della Walker in Lenora, Kan.

In 1966 he met Jerie Doolin. They wed that same year, going on to have two children, Brand and Krista.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Della Walker, and two siblings, Lynn Walker and Peter Walker.

After graduating for Lenora High School in 1961, he went on to study Industrial Technology at Southwest Missouri State University. Graduation led to a career in aerospace. Chuck designed tools to make aircraft and rocket engine parts for various manufacturers. This included work for the International Space Station and a project named Deep Impact to study a comet. After retirement, Chuck spent his time hunting and target shooting. He also loved hot rods and genealogy.

He is survived by his wife Jerie Walker; two children, Brand (Bobbi) Walker of Columbia and Krista (Carl) Jackson of Marshfield; brothers, John of Hutchinson, Kan. and Jay of Lenora, Kan.; a sister, Charlene Walker-Cunningham of Lenora, Kan.; a sister-in-law, Sheila of Russell, Kan.; and three grandchildren, Sarah, Daniel, and Samuel.
