Gary Leon Hutsell, 76, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021, in Lebanon.

He was born May 4, 1945, in Wichita, Kan. to Farrell and Thelma Hudgons Hutsell.

On Oct. 10, 1998, he married Donna Herod.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Margo Maloney and two brothers, Jerry Dale Hutsell and David Lee Hutsell.

Gary was a Vietnam veteran. He proudly served our country in the United States Army, entering on Sept. 28, 1966, until his honorable discharge. Although Gary worked various occupations over the years to provide for his family, his most rewarding was being a pastor. The lives he touched over the years were countless. He ministered in Missouri, Arkansas and Alabama. Most recently his was the pastor at Bailey Chapel, where he had been officiating for four years.

He is survived by his wife Donna; children, Debbie Dowden and her husband Ricky, Nathan Alexander and his wife Tammy and Kristina Roberts and her husband Allan, all of Lebanon; siblings, Farrell “Sonny” Hutsell of St. Louis and Mike Hutsell and his wife Brenda of Arkansas; 14 grandchildren, Kayla Gunther and her husband Kyle, T.J. Dampier and his wife Samantha, Shantelle Rogers and her husband Andrew, Dayton Alexander, Natalie Alexander, McKenzie Zeigenbein, Brady Roberts, Nathaniel Roberts, Hunter Dowden, Celeste Dowden, Richard Dowden, Dakota Dowden, Ashley Poletti and Anthony Poletti; 12 great-grandchildren, Kaylyn, Kinsleigh and Korbin Gunther, Lanie and Tucker Dampier, Hadley Rose Alexander, Kayden Rogers, Savaeh Poletti, Linkin Vetra, Anthony, Cali and Alex Poletti; other relatives, church family and many dear friends.

Funeral services for Gary Leon Hutsell will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. until service time also on Monday at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
