The Lebanon High School Marching Yellowjacket Band travelled to Carthage, MO to participate in the 60th annual Maple Leaf Marching Festival and morning parade on October 17th.

The parade, nearly two miles long, winds through downtown Carthage. Lebanon earned first place for their parade performance.

During their preliminary performance in the afternoon, Lebanon placed 2nd in their class with a score of 79.75, and won caption awards for Outstanding Percussion Performance, and Outstanding Colorguard Performance.

Later that evening in their final’s performance against tough competition, Lebanon placed 5th with a score of 79.8. Additionally, they won the Fan Favorite Award, the 2026 Sweepstakes Award—which is a combined score of their parade and field performances—and Outstanding Colorguard Performance.

The band’s show this year was titled Fire & Ice and featured the musical selections of “Mars” from Gustav Holst’s The Planets, Verdi’s “Dies Irae,” Puccini’s “Nesum Dorma,” and “Finale” from Stravinski’s The Firebird Suite.

The band will be transitioning into their concert season, but will have one final marching performance in late November where they will participate in the Lebanon Christmas parade on November 21st.
