MARY ROWENA (CAMPBELL) DAVIS

Mary Rowena (Campbell) Davis, 92, of Long Lane, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2021, at her home near Long Lane.

She was born Feb. 21, 1929, in Blackshear, Ga. to William Sam and Maime Myrtle (McCaskill) Campbell.

On June 8, 1965, she married Lawrence Corley Davis.

She graduated from Wasco Union High School on May 28, 1948 and subsequently earned a nurses’ aide degree. She worked at Peninsula Community Hospital in Monterey, Calif. for 15 years. While living in Humboldt County, Md. she worked 29 years as a teacher’s aide at Dow’s Prairie Elementary School in in McKinleyville.

Mary was baptized at an early age in the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca and husband Gary Howard of Long Lane; stepson, Dan and wife Deb Davis of Oregon; stepdaughter, Leslie and husband Greg Cannafax of Eureka, Calif.; stepson, Jim Moody of California; stepdaughter, Sharon and husband Larry Moore of Redding, Calif.; and stepdaughter, Teresa and husband Kirk McGinnis of the state of Washington; also numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo.
