Dana (Adams) Butterfield, 66, of Holton, Kansas formerly of Lebanon, MO, Moline, IL and Tucson, AZ, died Wednesday, May 27, 2026, in Holton, KS. She was born 26 July 1959 in Kansas City, MO, to Billy and Frances (Agee) Adams. On May 9, 1981, she married Kent Butterfield in Moberly, MO. They lived in Moline, IL from May 1981 though January 2017. They toured the United States and Canada extensively until moving to Tucson, AZ and then Holton, KS.


Dana attended SOLID Christian Church in Holton and was active in their ministries and those of Poured Out, Inc. efforts in US Disaster Response and fresh water ministry in Haiti and Uganda. She made several missions trips to Haiti and one to Mexico. Dana worked as an administrative assistant at the Rock Island Arsenal for several years. She was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed reading, gardening and most of all being a loving wife to her husband Kent. She is survived by her husband, Kent Butterfield of Holton, KS; her Mother Frances Adams, seven children, Melissa, Kathi, Lindsay, Stephanie, Whitney, Aime and Jordan; twelve grandchildren; one great grandchild; one uncle, Don Agee, Kansas City; and several nephews and nieces and their children. Dana was preceded in death by her father Bill, and her brother Douglas.


Dana requested that there be no memorial service, rather to be remembered when gathered with friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Poured Out, Inc. P.O. Box 127 Willis, MI 48191 in order to build a water facility in Haiti in her name.
