David Euel Hough, 78, of Joplin, was born Jan. 6, 1948, in Lebanon to Ulyes and Wilma Hough and died Monday, Aug. 24, after a long battle with cancer.
In his younger years, David served as a firefighter in Kansas City, Mo. After his time in Kansas City, David returned to his roots in Lebanon, where he partnered with his brother Bob to run Hough Lumber Company. He later transitioned to a successful career as an insurance agent.
He is survived by two children, Andy Hough and his wife Nicha of Lebanon, Tara Benafel and her husband Doug of Chickamauga, Georgia; two grandchildren, one great grandchild; and a brother Bob of Lebanon.
Celebration of Life services will be held at a later date.
