Farron Louise Hilton, daughter of Loren G. and Lorene Nyberg Campbell, was born January 8, 1932 in Russ, Missouri. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Monday, September 7, 2026, at Princeton Senior Living in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. She was ninety-four years, seven months and thirty days of age.
Farron was raised in Lebanon and Laclede County and graduated from Lebanon High School in the class of 1950. Shortly after graduation, she was married to Jack D. Hilton, on June 11, 1950. Together they built a beautiful life rooted in devotion to God, family and shared memories. They celebrated fifty-seven years of marriage prior to Jack passing on October 24, 2007.
Jack was in the United States Navy and Farron accompanied him to Japan. Following his service, the couple returned to Missouri where Jack worked for the Department of Natural Resources. This career would take Farron and Jack all over the state of Missouri. They lived in Cameron, Southeast Missouri, Lake of the Ozarks, Brookfield, Festus and in Lebanon. While Farron and Jack lived in many places, Farron and a unique quality to form deep friendships in each place. She and Jack spent hours hosting at their house or enjoying fellowship as guests themselves. If you attended a church pot-luck dinner with Farron, she was one of the first there and last to leave making sure she had a chance to talk to everyone.
While in Lebanon, they were members at First Baptist Church where Farron sang in the choir. She was currently a member at First Baptist Church of Lee’s Summit and played in the hand bell choir in addition to singing. She truly loved Jesus. She cared about those who didn’t know Him and shared the Gospel with them.
After Jack passed away, Farron moved to Lee’s Summit to be near her younger grandchildren. She rarely missed a soccer game, swim meet, tennis match or cross country event. Farron enjoyed doing ceramics and going fishing. She enjoyed board games, card games and traveling. She also looked forward to baseball season, cheering for both the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Royals. It was a real problem when they played each other.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Lorene Campbell, and her husband, Jack.
Farron is survived by three daughters, Teresa Haden and her husband Bob of Richmond, Missouri, Gina Langford and her husband Kevin of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Elise Smith and her husband Jeffery of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; her grandchildren, Craig Langford and his wife Michelle, Rachel Langford and her husband Adam, Jaklyn Smith and Ella Smith; her great-grandchildren, Kalel, Edan, Brynnlee, Karis, Makena, Connor, and Vera; her sister, Marilyn Howell of the state of Washington; her wonderful church family and other relatives and friends.
Farron was a devoted wife, cherished mother, treasured grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, whose kindness and encouraging, supportive nature was rooted firmly in her Christian faith. Farron’s faith was most evident in her wonderful disposition in life. Farron lived life with a smile on her face, never complaining, rarely becoming angry, and always looking for ways to help others. Even in her last couple of years in memory care, she could light up the room with her smile.
Though her family grieves her passing, they find comfort in knowing that she has been welcomed into the presence of her Lord and Savior. Her life was a beautiful example of love in action. She will be deeply missed until the day her family sees her again.
