SSG (Ret.) Fernando Nelson Moncayo, 72, of St. Robert, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024, in Jefferson Barracks Veteran’s Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
He is survived by his wife Kim of the home in St. Robert; his daughter, Lisa Smith and husband Nicholas of St. Louis; two grandsons, Owen and Maximo Smith; three sisters, Yolanda Moncayo (Ray) of Vero Beach, Fla., Ana Maria Zaldumbide of Hobe Sound, Fla., and Berta Moncayo of Hoboken, N.J.; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, in Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Waynesville. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until service time at 12:30 p.m. in Memorial Chapel.
Memorial contributions in memory of Fernando Moncayo may be made and left at the funeral home.
