James Steven “Steve’’ Peterson, 70, of Mountain Grove, was born Dec. 10, 1955, to James Madison and Mary Lou (Green) Peterson and died Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at his home.
He is survived by his wife Sandra Jo; three sons, Jeremiah (Shannon), Andrew “Pete’’ (Katie), and Joey (Katie); 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five brothers, David (Connie), Phillip (Regina), Paul (Laura), Timmy (Larae), Mike; two sisters, Karen (Reggie) and Martha (Russell); two brothers-in-law, Steve (Sandy) and Larry (Carol) Anderson.
A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Greenwood Cemetery, under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home of Mountain Grove. Visitation was 5-7 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2026, at Mountain Grove High School Old Gymnasium.
Memorial contributions may be made to Missouri Junior Charolais Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in care of the funeral home.
