After a year of waiting for their first home game, the Lebanon baseball team dominated a non-conference matchup over the Marshfield Blue Jays in their 2021 home opener on Wednesday.
In the 13-3 win in five innings, LHS racked up 11 hits to pick up their first home win in over 365 days after their season was canceled due to COVID-19.
“Our guys hunted fastballs and stayed patient,” head coach Dustin Young said after the win. “This is a quality win over a good program. They have athletes throughout the whole lineup, play solid defense, and can bring several arms at you.”
After their jamboree and weekend at Neosho, where the team finished 1-1 with a comeback win over the Wildcats and a loss to Carl Junction, Young mentioned how far the offense had come along in the last week.
