'Jackets defeat Hillcrest 51-50

Posted
With 16.6 seconds remaining and trailing by a point, Hillcrest (6-7 overall) tried to draw a game-winning shot attempt up for All-Ozark Conference guard Tanner Hicks. With about 4.2 seconds left, Hicks took off towards the paint and ran straight into the body of Lebanon senior Cooper Berry who was there to take a charge with 0.8 seconds left on the clock to help the ‘Jackets secure their second Ozark Conference win of the year, 51-50. Berry, a defensive anchor for Lebanon, had been battling an illness for the past couple of days and Lebanon High School boys’ basketball coach Ryan Toombs wasn’t for sure whether or not Berry would even be available just hours before the game.
