Gravel Bar and Grill a total loss after fire Saturday

The Gravel Bar and Grill at Sand Springs Resort was damaged by a fire early Saturday. Although the building itself was a loss, resort operator Jack Glendenning said he was grateful that there were no casualties. “God blessed us very, very well,” Glendenning said. A call a little after 2 a.m. alerted Glendenning to the burglary alarm going off at the Gravel Bar. When he arrived on the scene, he said the building had caught fire and the blaze threatened to spread to the other buildings in the resort complex. For more on this story, see Wednesday's LCR.
