Lena Mae Smithpeter, 83, of Lebanon, Missouri, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026, in Lebanon, Missouri.

She was born September 2, 1942, in Stoutland, Missouri to William Phineus and Emma Maude (Hammer) Gregory.

On December 27, 1961, she was united in marriage to Oscar Willis Smithpeter.

Those preceding her in death include her parents; her husband on July 1, 1988; one brother, Robert Gregory and his wife Molly; one nephew, Robby Gregory; and one niece, Amanda Gregory.

She began her banking career, filling various positions, and holding different titles over her forty-nine years as a banker. Eventually she retired from Bank of America and Mid-Missouri Bank.

Lena Mae was a longtime, active and faithful member of First Christian Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Pam Begley and her husband Kerry of Lebanon, Missouri and Teresa Krahl and her husband Gene of St. Louis, Missouri; five grandchildren, Keisha Mayfield and her husband Logan, Jordan Begely and his wife McKenzie, Lance Begley, Jackson Krahl and Mia Krahl; five great-grandchildren, Lawson, Vivian, Ryland, Harrison and Saylor; one nephew, Scott Gregory; other relatives and many dear friends.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Lebanon Cemetery.
