LOIS MARIE BASS

Lois Marie Bass, 96, of Niangua, died Thursday morning, Dec. 23, 2021, at the Marshfield Care Center in Marshfield.

She was born Dec. 27, 1924, in Dwight, Kan. to Frank and Janie Fisher York.

On Jan. 14, 1973, she married Paul “Ray’’ Bass.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ray in November 1986; and three brothers, Neil F., Vernon S., and Leonard O. York.

Lois was born and raised in the Wichita Kan. area, where she earned her education. She continued to live most of her life in that area where she was a member of the Civil Air Patrol in Wichita and worked for the NCR Corporation until retiring. In 2000, she came to live in Missouri along with her dog, “Nemo,’’ and two cats, “Tommy’’ and “Sammie.’’ Lois was a member of the Arkansas Travelers Band for many years. She loved to sing and give her testimony. She always sang “God On The Mountain.’’ She knew where she was going and was proud to be a Christian.

She is survived by her sister Janie L. Winfrey of Lebanon; two brothers, Glenn R. York of Lebanon, and Irwin E. York and his wife Erma of Columbia, Ohio; as well as a number of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and her friends in Niangua who meant so much to her.

Funeral services for Lois Marie Bass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon. Burial will be in Dotson Cemetery near Lebanon, under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.
