Steven Alan Cumbea, 79, passed away on October 9, 2026, following a brief battle with cancer.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Sandra Cumbea (née Lewis); his daughter, Stephanie Cumbea (Nick England III); and his son, Tyler Cumbea (Elizabeth Erler).
Steve was a graduate of the University of Central Missouri, a proud member of Theta Chi Fraternity, and a retired Adjudication Officer with the Veterans Administration.
Steve embraced life fully and enthusiastically. He enjoyed countless rounds of golf with his many friends at Hunting Creek Country Club and cherished the camaraderie those friendships brought. A passionate music lover, he shared his appreciation of music with his children, fostering a lifelong connection through songs and memories. He also treasured opportunities to travel with his wife and children, creating memories that will be cherished for generations.
Above all, Steve loved to laugh. His quick wit, warm humor, and infectious spirit brightened every room he entered and left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his wife and children, his extended family in Missouri, his wonderful neighbors, and the many close friends whose lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Civil Liberties Union or the American Cancer Society.
