WINEVA “PEANUT’’ ARMER

Wineva “Peanut’’ Armer, 82, of Lebanon, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2021, in Lebanon.

She was born June 11, 1939, in Milan, Mo. to Donald Eugene and Frankie Pearl Wages Mason.

On Dec. 20, 1958, she married James Wilfred Armer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband James Wilfred Armer; a son, Brent Michael Armer; two sisters, twin sister, Geneva Armer and Phyllis Conley and by an infant brother.

“Peanut” graduated from Lincoln High School in Des Moines, Iowa.  After marriage she worked as an administrative secretary in various offices for many years, including Equitable Life in Des Moines.  She and her family moved to Phoenix, Ariz. until 1991, when they moved to the Phillipsburg area. While living in this community, she enjoyed visiting with friends at both the Hughes Senior Center and while playing bridge. 

She attended church in both Phillipsburg and Bennett Spring.

She is survived by her son, Brian Armer and his wife Jaime of Columbia; a daughter, Linda Galligher and her husband Allan of Nixal a brother, Michael Eugene Mason and his wife Laurie of Lacona, Iowa; a sister, Donna Vandenburg and her husband James of Mesa, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Kelsey Payne her husband Taylor, Chelsey Galligher, Dakota Armer, Matthew and Austin Gwin;  one great grandchild, Beckett Payne; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Wineva “Peanut’’ Armer will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Pastor Gerald Klaus officiating. Burial will be in Sunwest Cemetery in El Mirage, Ariz., under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.

Memorials have been suggested in memory of “Peanut’’ to Hughes Senior Center or to Disabled American Veterans. Donations can be left at or mailed to Shadel’s Colonial Chapel, P.O. Box 948 or 1001 N. Lynn, Lebanon, Mo. 65536.
