A Missouri Department of Transportation worker is expected to recover after he was run over by a paver machine on Highway O near Redbud Drive south of Lebanon Tuesday. Laclede County Sheriff Matt Frederick said the worker somehow found himself underneath the machine under the back end of a dump truck “They were able to stop everything and get him out from under the machine ,” Frederick said. Frederick said the worker was injured but is expected to recover. Frederick said the worker was missing skin, but had no broken bones. He said he had been at the scene after the accident but did not know the specifics of how the worker ended up under the paver. The worker was airlifted to a hospital. Frederick asked drivers to be cautious at work sites. “It’s a dangerous job for them because they’re playing around with big equipment, but we need to be mindful as drivers on the road to be aware of MoDOT workers out there,” Frederick said.
